The Kitchen is Where the Heart's At
Founder Emily Huang is no stranger to the commercial kitchen.
Her immigrant parents opened a modest family restaurant when she was ten, where her father, who had worked in kitchens since his teens, served as head chef.
After college, uncertain about her future and hoping to carve out a path of her own, Emily completed professional training at Le Cordon Bleu.
Marriage and motherhood eventually pulled her away from her dream, but her passion quietly returned through handcrafted desserts made for family, friends, and special occasions.
What began as a creative outlet soon blossomed into something more. Emily started curating elegant gift boxes for teacher appreciation week and celebrations, earning a loyal following through thoughtful craftsmanship and word of mouth.
Today, Two Mice Three Cats brings Emily’s creations beyond private orders and into the community at large. Blending classical training with heartfelt hospitality, she hopes every bite leaves you eager to return.
Why “Two Mice Three Cats”?
It all starts with the lunar calendar.
Emily and her husband were both born in the Year of the Rat: two famously resourceful, hardworking little mice. That was the easy part of the name.
The three cats came later: our three kids. Curious, energetic, and wonderfully unpredictable, they can change their minds dozens of times between breakfast and bedtime. Most days feel like one long game of cat and mouse, with two determined mice doing their best to keep up. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, and it’s ours: a family-owned business in the truest sense.
One thing never changes, though: our love of baking. We love creating delicious pieces, our kids love sneaking bites before anything has a chance to cool, and now we’re delighted to share our baked goods with the rest of the community.
